SANTA ANA A convicted rapist sat impassively in court Thursday as an Orange County jury announced that he faces the death penalty for the sexual assault and stabbing death of a pregnant, 22-year-old Costa Mesa woman housewife during a brutal six-week crime spree in the summer of 1988.
