When Jurupa Valley Mayor Vern Lauritzen got off the phone with Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey last week, he knew it was a “done deal”: Despite furious J-Val opposition, Lauritzen predicted Riverside electeds will vote tomorrow to run high-voltage lines along a six-mile stretch of I-15. “It was a heads-up,” Lauritzen said of Bailey’s call.
